| To me the name Morgan, in a motoring context, means exciting three-wheelers with lusty twin-cylinder engines and chain-drive. However, this time I have been asked to think in terms of Morgans with four wheels and I am happy to oblige, because whether a Morgan is seen as a tricar or a car, it is a sporting confection. It was in 1936 that the first production | four-wheeler emerged from that little Morgan factory tucked away in Worcestershire, under the shadow of the Malvern Hills. That is where they have made Morgans since 1910, first as tricycles, later as fully fledged four-wheeled sports cars. The aims, ideals, methods and output have remained largely unchanged along the years. When this first proper Morgan car evolved we were enjoying an age of sport (cont) |
